There are only three weeks left to sign up for the inaugural Tri for the Y, which is set for Sunday, June 6.

The event, sponsored by the Waynesboro YMCA and Elevation Athletics, is now accepting relay entries.

“Are you a great runner, but don’t like the pool as much? Grab your best swimmer friend and one more for the bike and form a relay to do the Tri for the Y,” said event organizer Lee Robertson. “Relays are a great way to participate in your first triathlon because you can focus on what you are best at, and you’ll be doing it with friends.”

The Tri for the Y features a 400-meter swim, a challenging 15-mile bike ride, then finishes up with a 5K run along the South River.

Signup information is available on the Tri for the Y website and on a Facebook page set up for the event.

The registration fees is $85 through June 2. Proceeds from the event will benefit the YMCA.
