Y taps Wright to head up SMAC program
The Waynesboro Family YMCA announced on Wednesday the hiring of Norm Wright to head up the Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club competitive-swimming program.
Wright has been coaching competitive swimming for 15 years. He most recently served as an assistant coach at Georgetown University, and is the former director of competitive swimming at the Coffman YMCA in Springboro, Ohio. The team at the Coffman Y doubled its number of YMCA Short-Course Nationals qualifiers in Wright’s first season at the helm there.
Wright was signed to a three-year contract and will start on the job on Monday, Aug. 30.
