Strike-A-Palooza!

The Waynesboro Family YMCA will be holding a bowl-a-thon called Strike-a-Palooza for Kids to support programs and services at the YMCA. All tax-deductable contributions to the Waynesboro Family YMCA will help us provide children and families friendly programming and services to the community of Waynesboro and Augusta County.

Strike-a-Palooza will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Wayne Lanes Bowling Center (208 North Charlotte Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980). There are 2 set times to bowl so registration is required.

1. COSMIC STRIKE-A-PALOOZA FOR KIDS

Midnight – 2:00 a.m. (Friday Night/Saturday Morning)
(Open to ALL area Students and High School Service Organizations)
 

2. STRIKE-A-PALOOZA FOR KIDS

Noon – 6:00 p.m. (Saturday)
(Open to All)

Teams

Each Team should have 4 bowlers. Each team member has to raise a minimum of $75 in sponsors in order to participant. (Just ask 10 people for $10 and you will have raised over the goal!) Don’t forget, we will be offering “Heavy Hitter” prizes – so don’t stop at $75!
 

Team Captains

TEAM CAPTAINS ORGANIZE AND CHEERLEAD!

As Team Captain, you will:

Step 1: ORGANIZE A TEAM OF FOUR PEOPLE. Recruit three other people to build your team (friends, family, co-workers, etc.). They do not have to be bowlers or have any previous bowling experience!

Step 2: REGISTER YOUR TEAM. This will help us prepare for the event and scheduling of the team bowling times. All teams should be registered by November 7, 2011.

– Choose a team name: The lane will be reserved under whatever name you decide upon. Be creative! Consider having your team dress in theme costumes!

– Provide your team members with a donation pledge sheet: Sponsors are requested to pledge a flat amount, payable up front in support of the Waynesboro Family YMCA. Checks should specify the individual bowler (or team) and should be made payable to: Waynesboro Family YMCA.

– Please ask your sponsors to mail all checks by to:

To register, drop-off a copy of your teams Registration Form at the Waynesboro Family YMCA or you can fax it to: 540-932-7582

Step 3: ENCOURAGE YOUR TEAM MEMBERS! Set a goal for your team and encourage them to meet it. Check their progress toward raising their minimum sponsorship amount of $75 – and be their cheerleader as they raise even more money!

– REMIND YOUR TEAM TO SHOW UP AT WAYNE LANES BOWLING CENTER NOVEMBER 12, 2011 for registration at least 20 minutes before bowling time. A Bowling Schedule will be posted by November 9, 2011 on our website and emailed to all team captains. (So register early!) All Captains should call their teams prior to the event and keep them updated in detail.

– Bring Donation Pledge Forms and all money collected on the day of the event. We will calculate your totals and announce the winner of the Top Fundraising Team on December 3, 2011 via Facebook and our Website.

Step 4: PREPARE YOUR TEAM. Lead your team members to check in, get their shoes, and find your lane. Put on your shoes; pick out a bowling ball, and HAVE A BLAST! Prizes will be given away every hour – so prepare to have fun! Prizes Every Hour! (Even gutter ball)

Step 5: Collect Outstanding Donations and Pledges! All Pledge & Donations MUST be turned in by November 18, 2011 to be counted towards the Top Fundraiser “Heavy Hitter” Prize.
