PRE-K CLASSES

Ages 3 – 5 years
All classes include instruction on pool safety, boating safety and other general water safety. Children will be introduced to personal flotation devices.

Pike: This class is for children with little to no experience with swimming. Instructors gradually help your child become adjusted to the water with games and water safety. Class is 30 minutes long.
Eel: This class is for children with experience in the water. Child must be comfortable without a flotation device and able to put their head under water. Instructors help your child learn breath control and swimming on their backs and fronts. Class is 30 minutes long.
Ray: Refines and builds on the skills learned in the Eel class. Instructors build child’s endurance to be able to swim 25 yards on back and front. Class is 30 minutes long.
Starfish: Child swims laps on their back and front. Instructors help child refine breaststroke and butterfly. Class is 30 minutes long. 

 

YOUTH CLASSES

Ages 6 – 12 years
All classes include instruction on pool safety, boating safety and other general water safety. Children will be introduced to personal flotation devices.

Polliwog: This class is for children with little or no experience swimming. Instructors help your child become adjusted to the water through breath control, floating, basic arm and kicking skills. Class is 45 minutes long.
Guppy: This class is for children with experience in the water. Child must have the basic skills learned in the Polliwog class. Instructor will help child refine arm and leg movement on front and back. Rotary breathing will be introduced along with building your child’s endurance. Class is 45 minutes long.
Minnow: Child will master the front and back crawl. Instructor will begin building the foundation for other strokes (elementary backstroke, breaststroke and sidestroke). Class is 45 minutes long.
Fish: Students will begin lap swimming front and back crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and sidestroke. Instructor will introduce dolphin kick and butterfly. Class is 45 minutes long.
Flying Fish: This class refines all strokes and increases endurance. Class is 45 minutes long.

Individual or small group swim lessons that provide one-on-one attention. These lessons target stroke improvement, correcting body position and the introduction of various strokes. Semi-Private lessons are geared toward those who have family or friends that want to take group lessons together. Private/Semi-Private lessons are available for children and adults, ages 3 and up. Sessions are 30 minutes long. 

 

PARENT/CHILD LESSONS

Ages 6 months to 3 years

This class is designed to give parents and their child an early introduction to water safety and beginning swim techniques. This class is very helpful for young children to become adjusted to the water with the help of their parent. Parents are given safety tips and techniques to help their child adjust to the water and a classroom setting. One parent must be in the water with child at all times. Classes are 30 minutes.
