Water-based fitness appeals to many types of exercisers: seniors, people with joint problems, obese people and those who simply love moving in water. The aquatic environment provides both buoyancy and resistance. Aqua aerobics classes are typically taught at three depths: waist deep, a depth between chest and shoulder height and deep enough so you can’t touch the bottom. Stick to the shallower depths unless you’re an accomplished swimmer. Both shallow and deep-water exercise classes offer many of the same benefits as land-based exercise, including toning muscle, improving posture and balance, increasing flexibility and burning calories.

POWER AEROBICS
MONDAY AND FRIDAY 8:00-9:00 am
Get a great start to your day with this high intensity class that is perfect for cross-training, and all fitness levels!

DEEP AQUA FITNESS
WEDNESDAY 8:00-9:00 am
Participants must be comfortable in deep water (12ft).  This deep water class will use a variety of deep water exercises to enhance cardiovascular fitness while strengthening and toning muscles.  Aqua fitness belts are provided but you may bring your own.

STRETCH AND TONE
MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY 9:00-9:45 am
Lower intensity class focusing on stretching muscles to allow a greater range of motion.

CARDIO SCULPT
TUESDAY AND THURSDAY 8:00-8:45 am
Tone and sculpt your body with no impact to your joints. This popular water aerobics workout is a blend of cardio and resistance training, and may incorporate resistance tools such as water weights and noodles

SPLISH-SPLASHERS
TUESDAY AND THURSDAY 9:00-9:45 am
Low impact class designed to improve joint flexibility and to decrease pain.

NOON AEROBICS
MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY 12:00-1:00 pm

Provides benefits including greater joint range of motion, muscle strengthening, cardiovascular stimulation, plus plenty of fun interactions!

ON YOUR OWN WATER WALKING
MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY 1:00-2:00 pm
The pool will be open and reserved for water walking on your own! Come join like-minded members for deep and shallow walking, running and low impact exercise!

WATER DIVAS & DUDES
MONDAY AND THURSDAY 7:30-8:30 pm
Fun, low impact class designed to release stress and tension as you unwind after a hard day’s work. You will burn calories, improve core balance, strength, tone and stretch muscles, while relaxing the body and mind for a good night’s sleep at the same time. You don’t even have to get your hair wet, so come on in and try it out!

AQUA ZUMBA
TUESDAY 7:30-8:30 pm
Aqua Zumba® blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn’t miss!

WATER TRIATHLON TRAINING
Enjoy the benefits of training as a group for the water leg of a triathlon through interval training and stroke development. You’ll get three instructor-prepared swim workouts per week—one to complete during class and two to complete independently.

  • Ages: 18 and up
  • Class length: 40 minutes
  • Requirements: Basic knowledge of the front crawl and the ability to swim a minimum of 200 consecutive yards
  • Seven-session cost: $52 for members and $107 for non-members

LAP SWIMMING
Lap swimming is open 5:15 am til 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, Saturday 7:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 – 4:00 pm. If all lanes are being used, please see the lifeguard to have the lap lane opened.

MEMBER NOTE
In the event of a swim meet at the Y, the pool will be closed and no programming will occur during the set-up, meet and clean up. Please see the Aquatics Board, front desk or our website for the most current information of closings or delays.
