Martial Arts
Students are instructed in the traditional martial arts systems such as ‘KUNIBA’, ‘SHI-TO-RYU’, ‘GOSHIN-DO’, ‘KOBUDO’, & ‘IAI-DO’. These systems of karate, ‘AKIDO’, ‘JUJITSU’, ‘JUDO’, weapons, and sword trainings were brought to the United States in the early 1960s by a world renowned martial artist by the name of Shogo Kuniba “Soke” (10th DAN).
Kuniba’s system of traditional mixed martial arts was perhaps the first of its kind to be taught in the United States. Kuniba’s system is taught to law enforcement, military, and as well as civilians. Shihan Cooper instructs individuals in the ‘KUNIBA’ arts from the ages 6 and up as a group, as well as private instruction and self-defense courses.
